Farouk Nurish is the group’s Deputy Chief Executive and its Chief Marketing Officer. His primary role is to oversee the branding and marketing communications of the group as well as overseeing the strategy and implementation of special projects.
Prior to taking the role at the group level, Farouk helmed the Kuala Lumpur based marketing communications firm, Petra Ablemen Communications Sdn. Bhd. as it’s managing director – a company he founded in 1999. At the firm he has run integrated marketing communications campaigns for brands such as Sony, ING Insurance, Tourism Malaysia, The Malaysian Timber Council, and Bank Negara (the Malaysian Central Bank).
Other than marketing communications, Farouk has also been active in the tourism industry. He has worked with Kuala Lumpur City Hall to develop the city’s tourism industry master plan as well as a number of tourism products for Kuala Lumpur. He sits on the board of Meridian Tourist Access Sdn. Bhd., the company that created and operates the KL Pass. He also founded Rimbaway Eco-tourism Sdn. Bhd., a company that offers unique getaways into the Malaysian rainforests and tropical islands.
Farouk read law at the University of East London. He is a member of the Malaysian Branding Association and sits on the executive council of the Kuala Lumpur Tourism Association.Farouk Nurish's LinkedIn Profile
