Noor Azmi is the Operations Director for Zenzero Restaurant & Wine Bar and Big V’s. He has more than 15 years of food & beverage industry experience, having managed some of the most established Italian fine dining outlets in Kuala Lumpur.
His first managerial position was at Scalini’s, the restaurant that put Italian fine dining on K.L’s map. At Scalini’s he worked with Chef Stefano Cavallini and Andrea Pini during whose tenure the book “Cucina Essenziale” was published. Moving to Grappa Trattoria in 1998, he oversaw the setting up of the wine list and worked with chef Lorenzo Zechubi.
A year later Noor Azmi took up the challenge of setting up Brasserie Balzac for the Olympia Group. During his stint here, he worked closely with renowned sommelier Andrea Guard, to set up an exquisite wine list for the restaurant. In 2000 he moved to Grappa Soho, which has a 140 seat Italian restaurant and a fine wine bar Merc Grand Cru. While at Grappa Soho, he had the opportunity to visit Italy during Vinitaly.
In 2002, Noor Azmi joined Frangipani restaurant & bar where he worked with Chef Chris Bauer. In 2007, he took on the leadership role of Director at Frangipani restaurant till March 2015, when he then joined Zenzero.
