The Vinod Sekhar Foundation has become a catalyst for socially conscious innovation in Malaysia and beyond. In collaboration with the Malaysian Scientific Association, it established an annual award of RM 500,000 for scientists whose innovations create meaningful societal benefit. This initiative reflects the foundation’s long-term commitment to merging science and humanitarian values. To date, it has contributed over RM 15 million to education and community development programmes, translating the PETRA Group’s philosophy of Social Capitalism—that doing good and doing well must go hand in hand—into real-world progress.
